Weekly Review — Values Behaviors Checklist
Weekly quiz: https://v0-weekly-values-quiz.vercel.app/
Sunday review rules:
- Write down 3 key commitments for the week; assign deadlines
- Prep the night before: if you promised something Tuesday, have it 90% ready Monday night
- Buffer time: always plan to finish 1 day early
- Confirm, don’t assume: reply to requests within 24 hours (yes/no/timeline)
Reliability ✅
Do: Write 3 weekly commitments with deadlines | Reply to all messages within 24h | Day-before prep: work 90% ready | One proactive update to someone waiting | Friday: confirm 100% of promises kept
Don’t: Overcommit to prove reliability | Ghost on small asks | Accept unclear deadlines
Excellence ⭐
Do: Pick ONE deliverable to spend 30% more time on | Before shipping: self-edit, catch 3+ errors | Get feedback from someone you respect | Study excellence: 30 min analyzing work you admire | Review past work — notice improvement
Don’t: Ship work you’d be embarrassed about | Confuse “done” with “good”
Preparedness 🛡️
Do: Sunday: list what you need for 3 key events | Pre-mortem: write 3 things that could go wrong | One backup plan written | Add 20% extra time to every estimate | After 1 event: check what you’d prep differently
Don’t: Over-prepare (analysis paralysis) | Prepare for unlikely scenarios at expense of likely ones
Serendipity 🎲
Do: Say yes to ONE thing you’d normally skip | Explore one new place | Follow a recommended thread without vetting | Make one unexpected connection | Reflect: what unexpected connection came from openness?
Don’t: Use serendipity as excuse to be disorganized | Say yes to things that drain you or derail commitments
Honesty 💬
Do: Say no clearly — “No” not “Maybe” | One honest conversation: tell someone something true that’s slightly awkward | Admit one mistake without defensiveness | Check your story: “Am I telling myself the truth?”
Don’t: Use honesty as excuse to be cruel | Over-share things that aren’t yours to share | Perform vulnerability instead of real honesty
Self-Respect 🪞
Do: One boundary: say no without over-explaining | Self-check: “Am I doing this because I want to or because I think I should?” | Defend a choice without wavering | One thing purely for you, not for approval
Don’t: Stay in situations to avoid disappointing others | Abandon values for comfort or approval | Accept treatment you wouldn’t accept from a friend
Responsiveness ⚡
Do: Daily: process messages (reply/decide/delegate, don’t just read) | One quick call instead of back-and-forth | Default yes: when offered something low-stakes, solve logistics after | Clear any unresponded message by Friday
Don’t: Rush big decisions for speed | Make others wait while you’re “thinking” — decide or give timeline
Bias to Action 🚀
Do: One imperfect move — ship rough | Ask for feedback early: show half-done work | Run one small test | Set 15-min limit to decide and move | Reflect: what did you learn by doing vs. planning?
Don’t: Use “action” as excuse for recklessness | Skip thinking that prevents catastrophic mistakes
Agency 👑
Do: Check the script: “Is this what I chose or what I inherited?” | One small choice based on your preference | For something you’re “stuck” on, write 3 paths forward | Own a failure: “I chose poorly and here’s what I’m changing”
Don’t: Use agency as excuse to ignore legitimate constraints | Dismiss valid advice as “someone else’s agenda”
Integrity 🤝
Do: Pick 1 area and ask “Do my actions match my values here?” | Keep a promise to yourself | Tell the truth when honesty costs you something | Catch yourself preaching something you’re not doing — fix it
Don’t: Pretend inconsistencies don’t matter | Have integrity in some areas while letting others slide
Responsibility to Others 🤲
Do: Follow up with 1 person who’s counting on you | Finish something you committed to | Ask “How did my action affect this person?” | If you let someone down: own it, fix it
Don’t: Take responsibility for others’ emotions | Over-function (rescuing creates dependency)
Intentionality 🎯
Do: Sunday: write 3 things that matter this week | Decline 1 misaligned thing | Review choices: “Did I do this on purpose or out of habit?” | Block time for what matters before reactive work fills it
Don’t: Confuse busyness with intentionality | Be rigid (intentionality includes flexibility)
Sovereignty 👸
Do: Do something your way instead of the expected way | Stop asking permission for things you have authority over | Find 1 belief you accepted from someone else and question it | Make a decision without running it by everyone first
Don’t: Use sovereignty as excuse to dismiss advice | Be contrarian just to prove you’re free
Curiosity 🔍
Do: Ask “why” 3+ times when someone shares something | Learn something outside your expertise | Interview someone with genuine curiosity | Question 1 belief you take for granted
Don’t: Use curiosity as excuse to pry | Dismiss expertise with endless “why”
Openness 🌱
Do: Hear criticism — listen without explaining | Assume good intent | Try something you’d normally dismiss | Share something real about where you struggle
Don’t: Be so open you have no discernment | Use openness to avoid setting boundaries
Growth 📈
Do: 30+ min deliberate practice (not just consumption) | Identify something you’re not good at yet | Choose the harder option/task/conversation | Review progress: how have you grown in 6 months?
Don’t: Chase growth for ego | Sacrifice depth for breadth
