Year-End Reflection

What didn’t go to plan: What didn’t happen that I thought would? Where did I fall short of my own expectations? What did I start but not finish? What did I avoid that I shouldn’t have? What decisions do I regret? Where did I let fear make the choice? What relationships didn’t get the attention they deserved? Where did I play small? What kept recurring as a problem — what does that pattern mean? What excuses did I use most?

What went well: What am I most proud of? What did I do that surprised me? Who showed up for me? Who did I show up for? What did I learn that changed how I think? What risk paid off? What did I let go of that needed to go? What moment am I most grateful for? What did I do for the first time? When did I feel most like myself?

Forward-looking: What do I want to feel at the end of next year? What do I want more of? What do I want less of? What is one thing I want to do that scares me? What habit would change everything if I stuck to it? Who do I want to become? What area of my life needs the most attention? What am I not saying to someone that I should? What do I want to start? Stop? Continue? If I could only focus on one thing, what would it be?

Daily / Weekly

  • What am I tolerating that I shouldn’t be?
  • What would I do if I wasn’t afraid?
  • Where am I performing vs. actually living?
  • What do I actually believe about myself right now?
  • What is the story I keep telling myself that isn’t true?
  • Who do I want in my corner when things go wrong?
  • What does success actually feel like vs. what I imagine it feels like?
  • What’s the one thing I keep putting off that would change my situation most?

Emotional Processing

  • What am I feeling right now, and where do I feel it in my body?
  • What does this feeling want me to know?
  • What am I afraid will happen if I say what I actually think?
  • If a friend felt this way, what would I tell them?
  • What do I need right now that I’m not giving myself?

Future-Mapping

  • What’s probable, possible, plausible, preferable — for each goal?
  • Things I can’t change right now vs. things I can do right now
  • How to do ego death — what would I need to let die for something new to emerge?
  • What past illusions and feelings have come up for me?
  • Is my giving and nurturing reciprocated, or is it only going one direction? Am I able to receive?
  • Do I take on others’ emotional burdens? Is my value tied to merging, fixing, caring for others?

Interoception Development Ladder

Develop interoception as a practice — in order:

  1. Body scan — notice physical sensations without judgment
  2. Lifestyle things — notice what the body responds to
  3. Clear gunk — remove what dulls sensation (substances, avoidance, numbness)
  4. Feel your feelings — actually allow them rather than manage them
  5. Self-love — active, not passive
  6. Forgive
  7. Reprocess memories
  8. Build community
  9. Repair family wounds
  10. Unify parts
  11. Build collectedness
  12. Explore experience
  13. Share with others
